The PowerBase built-in video doesn’t support millions of colors at 1024x768 regardless of refresh rate or amount of video memory installed on the video riser card. Higher resolutions and color depths can still be achieved with a PCI video card such as the IMS Twin Turbo card.
In the 800x600 resolution at a vertical refresh rate of 75 Hz, the 2 MB EDO will only provide 16 bit video (32,768 colors). At slower refresh rates, or with SGRAM or SDRAM installed, 24 bit video (16.7 million colors) is available in the 800x600 resolution.
Has a 120-pin video DIMM connector that allows the use of +5V EDO DRAM, +3.3V SDRAM and +3.3V SGRAM. A 2 MB EDO DRAM DIMM ships with the machine. 4 MB is possible by replacing the 2 MB EDO VRAM DIMM with a 4 MB SDRAM or SGRAM DIMM.
Has either a Mac DB-15 connector or an SVGA HD-15 soldered on the logic board. When the logic board is configured with the optional HD-15 connector, an adapter to allow connection to Apple monitors is required.
